AR Shopping @ Snap
I joined Snap as the 1st Mobile Engineer on the AR Monetization team. I acted as Tech Lead for the AR Shopping initiative that created catalog backed AR Shopping Lenses. I came up with the first designs for the product cards that are now part of every catalog backed AR Shopping Lens. My role morphed from being simply a domain knowledge expert in 3D to being part product designer, part engineer, part whatever was needed at the time. I worked closely with product, design, engineering and marketing to pitch and deliver the successful launch of the first version of AR Shopping Lenses.
Managing Ambiguity
The term AR Shopping is very vague and when I joined the team there was a lot of ambiguity as to what was meant by AR Shopping in general. After learning more and more about the goals of the company and the customer pain point the actual problem became clear. Given this vision I worked with the team to refine it after my initial idea and turn it into a product. This was a team effort and I am very glad I was able to lead my team to their initial launch.
From my experience at Snap I learned that without a clear philosophy a product is nothing.
In The News
The efforts of my team did not go unnoticed. I am proud of my team and their extreme work ethic to get this product over the finish line. Here are a few articles that I have collected as a testament to the incredible product we were able to bring to the Snapchat platform.
